Historian Jim Gibbons will return to Prairie Creek Public Library and will present, “Following the Yellow Brick Road: The Life of Judy Garland.”  This program will include her rise to worldwide fame as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz; how she went on to star in other notable movies, such as Meet Me in St. Louis and Easter Parade; how she was let go from MGM in 1950 for personal struggles, yet went on to star in her own Emmy-nominated television show; and how seh was the first female to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement after her death.
