“Reading is so Delicious”
It’s a piece of cake to win delicious prizes at the Prairie Creek Public Library from October 1st – 14th. Simply devour some tasty tales to win yummy prizes! The library is offering a short reading program for all children Toddlers through 5th grade.
A winning recipe for Toddlers – 2nd Grade: Children in this group will need to read (or have an adult read to them), five books on your reading level. Two books must be about food (ex. “Pizza Party” by Grace Maccarone)
A winning recipe for Children in grades 3rd – 5th: Children in this group will need to read three books on their reading level. One book must be about food (ex.”The Case of the Food Fight” by James Preller).
After you have read your books, record them on the reading log supplied by the library. You may pick up your reading log at the main desk. After you have recorded your books, return the log to the main desk at the library. All children who have completed the winning recipes will be invited to a special “winners only” event which will be held on Monday, October 17th from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. During this event, children will be presented with certificates of completion for the program along with a special treat. Children will also get to decorate a cookie with some colorful and yummy toppings and ingredients.
