Fine Policy

When a book or magazine is overdue you will receive a postcard, and  a $.50  fine will be due.  DVD and video fines are $1.00 per day per item.  Failure to return library materials could result in library privileges being revoked until the overdue materials are returned. 

Fax Service

Fax services are available to the publc. Outgoing fax fees ; first page $1.00 each page after $.50  , international faxes are $5.00 for the first page and each page after $1.00, toll free numbers are free.  Incoming fax fees ;  $.50 per page.

Copy Service

Black and white copies are available to the public at a cost of $.20  per page.

Collection Development

The purpose of the Prairie Creek Public Library District collection is to make available books and other materials ordinarily provided by libraries that will meet the educational, informational, and recreational interests and needs of the people of the district.  The children's collection exists to provide pleasure, and, insofar as possible, to provide information in all fields of knowledge which are of interest to children.  Emphasis is put on books which will stimulate imagination, mental growth, and the development of a taste for literature. 

Donations

Prairie Creek Public Library District does not accept textbooks of any kind, nor encyclopedias.  We do accept fiction; paperbacks and hardback some non-fiction and also movies.  Please do not leave donations outside or in our bookdrop.

 Getting your Library card

If you would like to get a library card at Prairie Creek Public Library please bring a photo ID, 2 pieces of mail with your name and current address on it.  Also please provide a current phone number. 

If you're not sure whether you are eligible to be a Prairie Creek Public Library patron, simply check your property tax bill or your voter registration card. Both will have your library district on them.

If you find that you are not eligible, and you would like to be a PCPL patron, you may pay a fee good for one year.  The current one-year fee is $73.00
